Peri
Peri’s breakthrough perimenopause data drives disruption as femtech demand accelerates
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Peri is transforming care for perimenopausal women through a discreet wearable and app that deliver personalised, symptom‑based insights. By capturing continuous, female‑specific health data, Peri fills a long‑standing diagnostic gap and empowers women to understand and manage their transition. With femtech demand surging, Peri’s unique perimenopause dataset has the potential to reshape research and unlock truly disruptive innovation.

Problem

Early detection and intervention of perimenopausal symptoms can meaningfully reduce the long‑term burden of chronic diseases that affect women’s physical health, mental wellbeing, and economic participation. Yet major diagnostic gaps limit timely care: data is often incomplete, collected only once rather than cyclically, and too narrow to support accurate assessment. As a result, 70% of perimenopausal women who seek medical help do not receive appropriate interventions because clinicians lack objective, longitudinal information. Addressing these data gaps is essential to improving early diagnosis, guiding personalised support, and ultimately reducing the prevalence and impact of chronic diseases in women.

Solution

Peri empowers women by monitoring and reporting key diagnostic data throughout the perimenopausal transition, helping them understand their symptoms, manage their health, and engage more effectively with clinicians. This phase is a critical window when major chronic‑disease risk factors—especially cardiovascular disease and diabetes—worsen independently of ageing. Frequent hot flashes, for example, are linked to higher future CVD risk and may represent a female‑specific marker. By generating the first large‑scale, continuous dataset of perimenopausal symptoms, Peri enables new research insights into women’s chronic diseases and supports interventions that can reduce negative experiences and improve long‑term quality of life.

Peri Impact Overview

Peri’s system combines wearable sensors, intelligent algorithms, and active participation from women who track their symptoms and lifestyle factors through an app. These inputs are strengthened by partnerships with healthcare providers, creating a foundation for continuous, high‑quality data collection during the perimenopausal transition. Together, they enable a new stream of objective, longitudinal health information that has historically been missing.

Data gathered through sensors and manual input is processed on the platform to identify patterns and generate personalised insights. Women engage with these insights directly, and clinicians receive structured information that supports more informed conversations and targeted interventions. This workflow transforms fragmented, one‑off symptom reporting into a consistent, clinically meaningful dataset.
As more women access personalised diagnostics, two key outcomes emerge: increased use of real‑time health data during perimenopause and the creation of a large, previously unavailable dataset. Over time, this empowers women individually while enabling new research into female‑specific chronic disease risks, improving global health outcomes.

Impact KPIs
